Isn't it ironic, don't you think?!

First off, I miss Alanis Morisette. Anyone know what happened to her? Ok, I digress. Everyone I am coming in contact with is getting pregnant (watch out people! I'm like Midas, minus the whole gold thing) so I've been going to shower after shower after shower. I always like to buy something off the registry and a little something extra as well.

In my latest shower shopping extravaganza, I came across this delightful number!

Adorable, right?! I think so. And, for some of you that know me personally, you know I'm obsessed with funny t-shirts. I wear them often and everywhere I go. I know they are so out of date, but I don't care. They make me laugh A LOT. My favorite one is this one, and I wear it so much it's almost about to kick the bucket. I might cry if that happens.

So yea, the aforementioned onesie was a must. Plus I thought it was ironic that it said Made in the USA since the baby would be (get it?! Made in USA, and shirt Made in USA! I crack myself up). However, upon further investigation, (here is where the true irony comes in!), brace yourselves, it is made in China. CHINA. Not that there is anything wrong with China, but come on, this shirt boasts USA spirit and therefore, is an inaccurate statement.

To quote the great Ms. Morisette, "Who would've thought... it figures."

Guys really do make passes at girls who wear glasses

I am blind as a bat- it's not even funny. On a side note, is that an accurate statement, blind as a bat? Are they really blind? How do they see at night then? Anyway, I digress. Back to the point. C always gets on me about where I put my glasses because 9 times out of 10 I lose them and end up making an appointment for a new pair and those bad boys add up. I need a tracking device for them por favor!

I've gotten a lot better about where I keep my glasses. Usually they are on my nightstand or on the counter. On the off chance C finds them, he puts them in one of those two spots for me. Now, if you know me well, you know I have two faults. One, I'm SUPER clumsy. B, I lose things like it's my job. I really do. At the mall I had to call security because I lost my car, but found they found it in the spot I left it at, woops. So yea, it's bad. (Another reason I'm not ready for kids yet, if I lose things, I hope to goodness I wouldn't lose a kid!)

With the holidays around the corner we have had a boat load of people at our house. (Don't worry, this story gets better, I promise!). So, long story short, someone left a pair of glasses on our counter, so C automatically assumed they were mine and put them on the nightstand. Side note, I have had the same pair for the four years we have been together. Mine are purple. These were brown. Why he thought these were mine is another story. Why I thought they were mine is even worse.....

I wake up for work, go shower, get ready, and throw on my glasses. My eyes were a lot foggy, but I assumed I just wasn't awake yet. As I walked down the hall I thought something wasn't right. Next thing I know I tumble down the stairs. Apparently I can't see out of the glasses! Rather then thinking these aren't mine, I scamper to the phone, call C and begin crying/hyperventaliting/gasping to call the doctor ASAP as I have gone crazy and can no longer see out of my eyes. It was very traumatic.

At that moment I took off said glasses to wipe my tears. I noticed again these were an odd shape. I begin feeling my way around the kitchen and find, in my jacket pocket, MY glasses. So I call him back and tell him false alarm, I'm going to make it after all.

Moral of the story? Get Lasik. UGH.

MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

1.If you had to be shipwrecked on a deserted island, but all your human needs – such as food and water – were taken care of, what two items would you want to have with you?

Can I have my hubby and kitten? If not, then I would need a computer (I'm techno addicted, yo!) and my sewing machine. I'd have lots of time to learn new things to sew!

2.If you were a salad, what kind of dressing would you have?

Honey mustard. I can't live without it.

3.If you had to live on a ranch, what kind of animals would you raise/own?

I'm a vegetarian, so they would be raised as pets, not food. However, I'd like to be like Noah and have two of each kind of animal. I think that would make for one big happy family!

4.If your life was was portrayed as a movie, who would you choose to play you and your significant other?

Me: Amy Adams, the gal from Enchanted. Him: Everyone says the dude from Hurt Locker is my husband. I even had our friends' 11 year old say, "Mom, is that Mr. C?" So yea, that guy. (Jeremy Renner I think).

5.What was the last thing you put a stamp on (envelope, duh, but what was in the envelope)?

We have a tradition in my household, ever since I've been a little girl that when my Grandad would mail us a letter, the stamp would be put on upside down, as a symbol saying I LOVE YOU. I find myself doing that nowadays, but I get mad when I send bills like that. I don't love them. Anywho, I last mailed a box to the soliders overseas in Afghanistan through Baking Gals. They had lots of stamps and love on them.

All I want for Christmas is this and this and this.....

I am like a kid in a candy store when it comes to the holidays. My birthday is the beginning of December, then it's Hannukah, then Christmas, so yea, I flippin love the month of December!

Another thing I love? Etsy. I could buy one of everything from that site if the hubby didn't put his foot down and say no. I'm still working on changing his mind though, so wish me luck.

In honor of the holidays (don't panic, but Christmas is 6 weeks away, AHHHHHHHHH) here is an Etsy based holiday gift guide. And, if anyone feels so inclined to pick up anything for my birthday, I won't object! Just kidding.

For the men in your life:

My husband is in the military, so that requires him to be clean shaven all the time. Which is a ok with me! Rather than just using any old shave gel, I thought this might be a great gift! The kit includes: Hardwood Shaving Soap Bowl with Hardwood Lid, Hardwood Shaving Natural Bristle Brush, 1 Shaving Bar in scent of choice, and RHASSOUL CLAY: (Moroccan Lava Clay), which provides ease of razor glide. The scents you can choose range from Corona, Rum, and Killians beer, as well as others. What man wouldn't enjoy this?!

Also, men, it's ok to have a playful side, even while wearing a suit and tie!

Now, if you aren't a Megatron fan gentlemen, they also have Optimus Prime. I'm always rooting for the good guy! They come in copper, gold, and silver, so there are so many choices! And be sure to browse the shop, as I think Spiderman fans, Star Wars fans, and car/truck fans will not be disappointed.

For the kids:

Isn't it funny how trends come back in fashion? I was a kid of the 80s and wore legwarmers like it was my job! So I was pleased as punch to see these darling little numbers making a comeback. Best part? Can fits babies all the way to teens! I can see my niece now running around in them. I must stock up!

Throw on a onesie and a snazzy pair of legwarmers and your baby is ready to hit the town. You will have the most stylish baby on the block, in my opinion. I'd like a pair myself!

One thing I have learned over the years is that children have wonderful imaginations. And you never know when ideas will start flowing! That is why I love the Dine & Doodle.

I'm sure you are thinking, "Ummm Megan, we have coloring books, paper, pens, crayons, markers already". I get that. However, I'm all about convenience and I'm also lazy. I like things to be in one place for me so I'm not digging around my purse for an hour trying to find something. That's why I think this is handy dandy. It comes with a notepad, three crayons, a piece of chalk, and a chalk board and folds up into a nice, neat package. All in one place! This is the rockets and robots design, but there is also a cupcake one for the girls. So cute!

For the ladies:

Now ladies, don't think I forgot about you! There are so many items I'd love to show you, but then this post would be entirely too long. So I'll just limit it to my favorites.

I had these purse hooks in various stores and was intrigued, but never bought one. I received one at my bridal shower, and I must say, it's a brillant invention. Sometimes when I go out to eat, I don't want to throw my purse on the floor and there often is not a lot of room to leave it on the table. So this is when the hooks come in handy. It folds up nicely and fits right in your bag. Super convenient.

Lastly, I love love love this headband. I love the rosettes, the colors, everything! It's definitely on my wishlist! This would be a great gift to give to a friend, a co-worker, or even yourself! How darling with jeans and a t-shirt, or you can spice it up and wear it work! Definitely a must have.

The gift possibilities through Etsy are endless. There is definitely something for everyone! Good luck with shopping!

Be sure to check out the post here!

My hubby my hero.

I know I'm a day late, but I wanted to start by saying thank you to my hubby and all the other Veterans and Active Duty folks out there. Thank you for all you do. I mean it.

My Grandad is a retired Navy pilot and my husband is Air Force. They are adorable together giving each other a hard time and making fun of each other's branches. I know it's all in fun and they really do respect and admire one another.

Last night, Applebee's was offering free meals to Veterans and Active Duty. It was amazing to me to see the turnout of folks that were there! And it made me grateful! Grateful that we have so many people that are willing to protect us, our freedoms, our opinions, and our beliefs.

A quote I heard yesterday, which is so true:  A Veteran is someone, who at one point in their life, wrote a blank check payable to the United States of America for an amount up to, and including, their life.

Again, thank you military men and women. You are so much braver than I am. I really appreciate it.
And honey, you are my hero, whether you like it or not! <3

Things that make you go hmm...

Today's Tuesday post is brought to you by the letter "T". Something that starts with a "T" that makes me laugh? The term 'armed & dangerous.' One would think that the word armed would be scary enough.

Just a random thought for today!

Mr. & Mrs. Happy Holidays!

This will be our first Christmas as Mr. & Mrs. Guessourlastname. I can't flippin' wait! I have yet to get anything that says Mr. & Mrs. Whoarewe, so when C mentioned we should do holiday cards, I thought, "my husband is a freakin' genius!" and when the opportunity to get 50 free holiday cards from Shutterfly arose, I thought the cosmic universe was telling me something.

I have ordered a gazillion things from Shutterfly in the past, such as my guest book for the wedding, a photobook for my Grandad (shhh that's his Christmas present), and our thank you notes. So I am madly in love with Shutterfly and their quick service, value, and overall awesomeness.

In browsing the cards, I was floored. There are so many fabulous ones to choose from, such as photocards, Christmas cards, and holiday address labels too! Here are my favorite Christmas cards.

This one is great because of the beach. We got married at the beach. I like where this is going....

I love this one because I have some family members that celebrate Hannukah, so this is a win-win for all holidays, not just Christmas!

And this one could be perfect because we could use our initial!

And I love these address labels. They make me hungry. Oh, and again they are pefect for all holidays!

So what do you think? Which is your favorite? And, since I just got married in June, is it appropriate to use a wedding picture?

And I must mention, since getting the cards requires a blog post about Shutterfly, you can consider this post sponsored. And feel free to spread the word to get your own cards!

Looks like I have some decisions to make!
