To do list

So, the hubby deployed in February. It is now mid July. And guess who has her to do list done? Not this girl. Woops.

So here's the deal. I wanted to do a few things before the hubby returns in 38 days. It's not looking too hot....

1. I wanted to clean out my closet.

I have an obsession with clothes. C can tell you though, when he is home, I'm good about shopping. I rarely do it. But, when is gone, I get lonely and cure that loneliness by shopping.

Woops.

I still have a lot off work to do.

I have a hard time getting rid of stuff. Everything has a meaning to me. I need to get over this. For those of you on here that periodically clean out your closets, how do you do it? I need help.

2. I want to learn how to cook.

Hubby is a meat eater. I can't stand that stuff. So of course when he is gone I don't cook meat. Unless of course anyone feels brave. If you know my husband in real life, ask him about the time I served pink chicken. Apparently it's not supposed to be a "pretty color." Who knew.

3. Work out like a mad woman.

I'm lazy. I work three jobs. This isn't boding well.

Amen, Natalie. Amen.

With 38 days to go, I have a lot to accomplish. Wish me luck! And if you hear of me slacking, crack the whip. Or, give me an ice cream sundae. That'll do too.

Confessions of a spendaholic

I have a little confession to make. I own a fancy dancy cappuccino maker, but I'm lazy and the 2.2 seconds it would take to put the cup in the machine would require me to wake up 5 mins early. I'm lazy folks. I really really am. You are lucky if I do something with my hair. It's often in a ponytail because I'm too lazy to try to do something to it. Ugh.

Anyway, on my long ass commute (that's an exaggeration, it takes 20 mins) to work, I manage to stop at the drive through DD or Starbucks for coffee and a bagel daily. It's so bad that they know me. It's also convenient because lazy me doesn't have to get out of the car. Score!

Today however I had a wake up call. I spend about $4 a day on breakfast. $4! That is $120 a month! What the heck?! The hubby and I are trying desperately to save and I being a selfish jackass by spending like this. I am going to try desperately to cut back. Perhaps with all the money saved I can buy shoes! Oooo good plan!

Wish me luck!

Something "bugging" me

I am normally a kind, loving soul. I don't kill bugs. When my students freak out that there is a spider, etc in the class I pick it up and take it outside. Yes, I'm that obsessed.

So imagine my dismay when out and about this weekend I get attacked by mosquitos. So bad so that my hand swelled up to two times it's normal size. The doctor said it is nothing to worry about, so I said ok. Last night I got eaten alive and this morning I have a friggin' blister! Something is definitely wrong with me.

The husband and I have come to some determinations as to why I get bitten and he doesn't.

1. I don't eat meat. One would think that a creature would applaud my selflessness and say thank you for not killing our species so let us thank you by not biting you. However, these dang mosquitos don't think that way. I hate them.

2. Could it be my lotion? I thought this, so yesterday I didn't put anything on, not even deoderant. (It was hot, not a pleasant experience). Yet, my arm is red and looks like I got beaten and my feet are bumpy. That thought process? Fail.

3. Vendetta. In an effort to keep these mama jammas under control I bought a bug zapper. This zapper scares the bejeezes out of me because it lets out a loud zap and sparks fly. (I may exaggerating slightly). Perhaps the bugs are out to get me? That was a bad plan...

For those of you that know me, you know one of my biggest fears is having a My Girl moment. I'm allergic to bees. Now I'm allergic to mosquitos too?!? What the heck? I am, from this moment forward, going to live in a bubble.

I have a tummy ache :/

Lately I have been having nightmares of things going aray on our wedding day. I am terrified of getting stung by bees, as I am allergic. In the car last night I told C what if we have a My Girl incident, like Maculy Caulkin. "There were just too many." Then I almost threw up with fear.

Lastly, what if one of us has a major medical condition. I found this story and just about passed out....
"Within few days of arrival, the groom began to feel unwell. It soon became evident that he was suffering from something other than “tourista”. He went to the resort doctor for assistance. Regrettably, on the day of the wedding, he was rushed to the nearest hospital. On the very afternoon he was to be saying, “I do,” he was undergoing emergency surgery. For privacy reasons, we cannot go into further detail, however, this was NOT a pre-existing condition and it was completely unexpected and unavoidable."

Ummmm WHAT?!?!?!?! OMG! This made me paranoid because I just cancelled my health insurance because I will be getting on C's once we are married. I refuse to eat from now until the wedding. Eeeek!

When I tell people about my fears, they just say it's pre-wedding jitters. Jitters are nerves I think. Not full blown panic attacks! However, I have come up with solutions to ease my mind.

1. To prevent the bugs from coming within 100 yards of me, I think I need this. And, the best part, the $7.95 price tag. Plus it says it's fun. I like fun and cheap. Those are two of my favorite words.

Take that bugs! The only movie scene I want is the one where we ride off into the sunset together. So there.

2. In terms of getting sick. I have decided we will pop multivitamins like a champ.I also hope that by taking them, we feel young and rejuvinated. I mean, this is forever you know?!

Any advice on how to make me not panic is appreciated. Oh, and Mama Nature, if you're listening, please help a sister out. You and I have had a chat, don't let me down, m'kay, thanks!
